There’s something about the black and white packaging, the bold letters and silk ribbon of a Chanel purchase that makes you feel proud, reassured and a little bit giddy.
Chanel’s lip glosses are like no other; a little bit sticky, not gloopy, with just enough shine and a rich colour that sinks perfectly into the lips. In short; it’s the makeup version of a Chocolate Ganache! In my search for the perfect nude lipstick (read full post here) I couldn’t resist adding a little Chanel to my daily regime. The two lipglosses are the perfect blend of high shine and a subtle pink undertone, highlighting the lips natural colour.
The first from the Levres Scintillantes Glossimer collection is the Rose Reve. As a traditional pale pink shade with a slight mauve tint this can be worn alone to add a glossy, natural daytime look or worn over the top of another nude lipstick which I opt for, for an evening look.
The second Levres Scintillantes Glossimer gloss in Songe, is a beautiful pearlised gloss which reminds me of an oyster shell as the combination of sheeny colours and slight touch of sparkle catches the light perfectly. Although pretty, I was relieved that such a mixture of colours isn’t transferred on application. Giving a soft and creamy appearance, it’s too special to be teamed with any other shade. Wear alone with a feline eye for a touch of sixties glamour.
