In 1996 she burst onto the screen in her Prada LBD, and a star was born. Better known for her designer labels than her terribly singing skills, Victoria Beckham has gone on to be one of the biggest fashion icons of our time. Garish WAG outfits and LA colour-coordination aside, she has found her calling in high fashion and has the chic wardrobe to match it.
But now Mrs Beckham is giving something back by selling 600 items from her wardrobe in aid of the charity, mothers2mothers. With an invitation from American Vogue Editor, Anna Wintour in her hand, Victoria visited South Africa to witness the work of the charity first hand. The charity trains and employs mothers living with HIV to educate them on health to prevent the disease spreading. So moved by her experience, Victoria explains “ve never experienced anything like it.”
The clothing donated are well-documented pieces that have appeared across the media from her Spice Girls days, to her early relationship with David and public appearances over her twenty-years in the industry.
Enlisting the help of The Outnet.com, Victoria told Grazia magazine, “We approached The Outnet, part of The Net-A-Porter Group, as they have an incredible global reputation and are the perfect partner for us to build awareness and raise as much money as possible.”
Dig deep ladies, and bag yourself a piece of fashion history in the process.
The Victoria Beckham Charity Sale for mothers2mothers will be available exclusively at www.theoutnet.com/vbcharitysale from August 20th-25th, 2014
