V&A TO CELEBRATE SHOES WITH NEW EXHIBITION

It seems to be all about the shoes this week (like every week should be) and it certainly will be at the V & A Museum in June 2015 as they’ve just announced a new exhibition dedicated entirely to footwear. Hurrah!

‘Shoes: Pleasure and Pain’ will showcase over 200 pairs from all over the world and throughout the ages, exploring the necessity and obsession with this fashion accessory. Amongst the footwear on display will be the famous blue, Vivienne Westwood platforms that saw Naomi Campbell sitting on the catwalk in 1993, 16th century mules, the ballet slippers designed for Moira Shearer in the 1948 film The Red Shoes and designs worn by high profile figures such as Marilyn Monroe, Queen Victoria, Sarah Jessica Parker and Daphne Guinness. But a shoe exhibition wouldn’t be complete without the modern-day masters such as Christian Louboutin, Alexander McQueen, Sophia Webster, Manolo Blahnik and Prada.

‘Shoes: Pleasure and Pain’ will open on June 13, 2015 and run until January 31, 2016, sponsored by Clarks and Agent Provocateur. Book your tickets here
