THINKING OF GETTING A LOB?

It’s the latest beauty rend that I’m seriously hankering over. I’ve had really long, thick tresses for as long as I can remember and I’m not afraid to admit-the thought of going short petrifies me! But when the likes of Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Megan Fox and Jessica Alba have taken the plunge and chopped their locks it gives me a little more courage to follow suit. But, if any of you ladies are also considering a new ‘do’ make sure you read these tips first!

HOW TO DO THE LOB:

WHAT TO ASK FOR

Make sure you have a full consultation with your hair stylist so they know exactly what you want and be sure to take images. Ask for it just above the shoulders and down to the collarbone at the front. It needs to be really choppy and full of texture.

HOW TO MAINTAIN IT

It’s the problem every woman faces-your hair looks magazine-perfect in the salon but no matter how many products you buy, it never quite looks the same at home. With the lob, the key is to keep it looking fresh and youthful otherwise you cross into mumsy territory! Make sure you rough dry it with lots of movement and texture and very loosely curl the lengths and let the waves drop so they’re not corkscrews. If it’s straight, it needs to be poker and not curled under.

I was scared when I told my hairdresser to go for it after a decade of long hair…but I haven’t regretted it 🙂
