Is it just me or do we seem to have totally skipped autumn and gone straight to winter? Temperatures have plummeted this week and I for one am ready to bundle up. Autumn and winter are my favourite fashion seasons and I tend to feel more at home layering up than any other time. As someone who is constantly cold, investing in a good quality coat is key for my happiness and vital to avoid lengthy complaining!
Some of my oldest items in my wardrobe are timeless coats from seasons past that I wear year in year out because if you get it right, the cost per wear will pay for itself. My favourite thing to do is unpack them all from storage and remember some classics that I forgot I had! Like boots, I tend to buy one new coat every year because with so many occasions to cover (puffer and parka for casual, tailored and blazer for work, military and trench for evening wear etc), my aim is to create a capsule wardrobe full of the perfect cover-up for all situations.
So if, like me, you want a cosy coat update, I’ve got you covered (no pun intended!)…
