Before I went freelance I knew that blogging wasn’t something I could do full time and I loved journalism – the buzz I got from taking a commission or researching pitches, there’s nothing else like it. Or so I thought. I would read about how influencer’s business’s changed when they decided to take the leap into full time blogging and never really believed it until the last few weeks. Ok, nothing dramatic has changed but the potential is all the more realised. I love this little corner of the internet I’ve made for myself and have discovered a new excitement when my inbox is fills up with amazing opportunities. Although I turn most of them down as they’re not right for me or my readership, when my faves, Nevilles Hair Salon asked me to host the launch of a new beauty treatment in the form of a London Fashion Week event, I didn’t need to hesitate for a second.
With a host of influencer ambassadors and celebrity clients at their disposal, I felt incredibly lucky to even be invited let alone host with Neville’s at their Belgravia salon for a morning of pampering and girl talk. Taking place on the light and airy first floor, the space was filled with beautiful blooms, delicious cupcakes, buttery croissants and big winged armchairs accompanied by the Essie nail station. As the rain pelted down outside (thank god we had hairdryers and tongs at our disposal!), it was the perfect way to spend a grey Monday in the city. From chatting jewellery and yoga over a breakfast smoothie with Rosie Fortescue to getting all the LFW goss from Roxie Nafousi, I can’t think of a better way to start the week!
THE FACIAL BAR
But obviously the star of the London Fashion Week event was Neville’s new facial bar offering express high grade treatments such as peels, crystal clear microneedling and skin vitamin infusions, dermaplaning, cryotherapy and forma radiofrequency courtesy of the amazing Dr David Jack. You guys know how much I love all things skincare, so after grilling poor Dr Jack on his methods, I came away with a wealth of new knowledge. With the wedding countdown on, I’m on a mission to get my skin it its best possible condition.
As it stands, it’s OK but could be better. I have some milia under my eyes, some persistent hormonal blemishes on my skin every month and some dry patches I want gone! So, I’m looking for solutions, clarification and a skincare regime that will give me that glowing skin without the highlighter (a girl can dream!). As an aesthetic doctor on Harley Street, Dr Jack wanted to create a “blow dry bar for the skin” with accessible treatments that don’t caused a month’s rent.
I was lucky enough to try the radiofrequency treatment at the event and was seriously impressed. Not just with the firmer, more contoured appearance of my skin but all the amazing hacks I learnt from my therapist! It turns out my lymph nodes were blocked which was responsible for my puffy eye area. After a brief and slightly uncomfortable massage, I felt them pop and unblock after just a few minutes. Cue running to the nearest mirror and there it was – a smoother complexion, less puffy eye area and tighter jawline. Magic! And it turns out it’s something we can all do by massaging the lymph below our earlobes on our neck/jawline – do it now!
Opening on March 14th, expect to find an Instagrammable space, mind-blowing treatments and a totally yummy protein shake made from Dr Jack’s range “Integrative Beauty” at a total steal with prices starting at £60.
