Every year I promise myself I’m going to embrace my natural skin colour, pink undertones and all. But when a little gem like this lands on my desk, the temptation is just too much. Although every self-tan brand promises a “natural” end result, there was something about the tiny bottle of Clarins Radiance-Plus Golden Glow Booster that caught my eye. But don’t let the size fool you because this tan packs a punch. The Radiance-Plus Booster has a higher concentration of tanning ingredients ensuring you receive the same golden results you’d expect but in an even consistency thanks to the handy dropper allowing you to drip two or three made-to-measure applications to your normal moisturiser.
I’d like to think of myself as somewhat of a tanning expert. I have tried more or less every brand out there but I have never seen a product quite like this. We all play the apothecarist in our bathrooms from time to time;mixing our regular tans with our moisturisers to achieve a more realistic result but it never quite looks as even as we’d like. However, after using Clarins Radiance-Plus Golden Glow Booster I have to admit it’s the first self-tan product that doesn’t make you smell like biscuits or leave your skin drier than the Sahara. With Aloe Vera extracts the serum actually softens the skin and works with your moisturiser resulting in a fresh-faced appearance. Although the bottle says two-three drops, I’m a little more ambitious and went for five and it gave a beautiful colour in the morning without a streak or tan-soaked pore in sight. Now, if only Clarins could create a body version
