As the clocks roll forward, no, back (that always throws me!), I find that I’m seeking solace in Netflix boxsets like Designated Survivior, cups of tea and steaming hot baths. Ok, maybe autumn doesn’t sound so bad after all!
I always feel like having a bath is a bit of an indulgence and often have to stop myself from thinking about all the things I should be doing at that moment that are far more productive. But, we shouldn’t feel guilty for taking a little ‘me’ time because studies have shown that being horizontal tells our brain to relax and therefore improves our mood. Yep, that definitely sounds about right. Since increasing my resistance and weight training I find comfort in the fact that I actually have to get warm and cosy in the tub to stop my muscles from being sore. Well, that’s what I tell myself anyway.
