ALEXANDER McQUEEN-INSPIRED AFTERNOON TEA COMES TO THE BERKELEY

He was one of the ingenius fashion designers of all time and now Alexander McQueens most recognised designs are being celebrated at The Berkeley Hotel in London. Famed for their quirky fashion-led Prêt-à-Portea, the hotel have created the infamous Armadillo shoe (from the S/S 10 Plato’s Atlantis show) from chocolate biscuit with cream icing and sparkles, while the much-adored Butterfly Hat (designed by Philip Treacy for the S/S 08 show) is dark chocolate mousse set on a sablé breton with delicate red sugar butterflies.

Other fashion favourites such as D&G and Moschino will also make an appearance in the form of a baked good to create a high fashion high tea. And who said luxury style couldn’t be accessible to the masses?

Prêt-à-Portea is served in The Caramel Room at The Berkeley from 1-6pm every day priced at £41 per person (£49 including a glass of Laurent Perrier champagne or £55 per person including a glass of couture champagne).
