It’s the beauty holy grail that we spend a fortune trying to achieve but while it seems that we’re doing everything right, we could actually be sabotaging our chances without even knowing it. Here’s how you can fix them with minimum effort required…
CAN’T TOUCH THAT
If you can’t shake those pesky pimples on your cheeks and nose, you might want to take a look at your daily routine. When was the last time that you cleaned your phone and/or glasses? Both are a breeding ground for bacteria and can trap sweat and moisture underneath. Make sure you anti-bac those suckers daily.
It may be hailed as the secret to clear skin but there’s such a thing as over-exfoliating. Pimples and sensitive skin can be made worse with abrasive mitts, cloths and exfoliators so opt for fruit-enzyme based products and topical serum which encourages cell turnover.
SWEAT IT OUT
Hitting the gym is great for your body and mind but it can wreak havoc on your skin, especially if you opt for lunch with a friend rather than hitting the showers. With hundreds of people touching the equipment daily, make sure you resist touching your face and make sure you cleanse thoroughly to wash out any sweat-filled pores.
When was the last time you cleaned your make-up brushes? Hmm…thought so. Harbouring as much bacteria as your phone, there’s no bigger culprit for spot breakouts. If you use them daily, aim to clean them every 2 weeks with a specialised solution.
DITCH THE WHITE STUFF
We all know how damaging sugar can be to our wellbeing and waistline, but it can also cause excessive dryness and pimples as it spikes our insulin levels. Cutting out sugar completely for 2 weeks will give you significant results.
TAKE IT OFF
It’s been said time and time again but somehow, sometimes we just can’t be bothered to take off our make-up, right? Wrong! While we sleep, our skin regenerates and repairs so don’t make it harder by clogging pores with product.
