I find myself in a beauty rut at the moment. I want to wait a couple of months before I start using my wedding skincare and my complexion is currently very winterized (these may also help with that). By that I mean pale, dry and generally a bit ‘meh’. With the new Spring beauty collections starting to filter through, it’s a bit of a weird time while we wait for the exciting pops of corals, pinks and reds to be released for the new season. Ah the new season, who else is excited about that?! But there has been three new beauty products that crossed my desk last week that I’m very excited about.
Nourishing, nude and brightening – three of my favourite words when it comes to beauty and these three tick all of those boxes. You guys know how excited I get about new beauty products, if you follow me on social you’ll have seen the GIFs when a lipstick lands on my doorstep or a foundation press release hits my inbox, it’s a giddy feeling like no other! So, these are the top three new releases that I’m super psyched for. And yes, I did just say ‘psyched’.
NEOM’S PERFECT NIGHT’S SLEEP FACE OIL
Out: 5th February
Are you sick of me banging on about how much I love Neom yet? Sorry, I’m not done yet. Since they launched their first candle all those years ago, I have been hoping this is the way the brand was going. With such beautifully smelling scents, it was ineviatable that skincare would be on the horizon and I’m so happy it’s finally happened. And I couldn’t not include it in my new beauty products round-up. Packed full of almond and rosehip oil, it uses 13 relaxing essential oils to not only cram your skin with goodness, the scent also helps you drift off into a peaceful sleep.
My evening skincare ritual is my favourite beauty time. As the time when your skin heals, repairs and rejuvenates, it’s when you can really go to town with your skincare and use the very best to get amazing results by morning. Neom know this which is why they’ve created a face oil that hydrates and restores your skin overnight. Although I’ve only used this twice, I was blown away by how effective it was after just one use. After cleansing and exfoliating, it melted into my skin immediately and smelt like a 5 star spa. By morning, my dull and grey complexion was plumped up, clear and, not to sound like a cliché, glowing. No greasy residue, no oil-induced blemishes, just hydrated skin. Finally!
GUERLAIN’S LA PETITE ROBE NOIRE LIP COLOUR’INK
Aside from their famous Meteroite pearls, I don’t have a huge amount of Guerlain in my make-up collection but think this should change after trying their new lip shades. Forever in search of the perfect nude hue, I’ve yet to find the right amount of pigmentation, gloss and hydration in one. Guerlain’s new beauty products are guaranteed to be beautiful and lip shades are no different – the perfect size to slip into my handbag on a night out, they’re the right nude but lack a little in longevity.
I struggle to find a nude lipstick that isn’t too strong or too brown for my pink undertones, but Flawless had a creamy consistency and just the right amount of pink to brown ratio. They are matte in application which is ideal while we’re still in these dull winter months but didn’t last as long as I would’ve liked.
URBAN DECAY’S ALL NIGHTER CONCEALER
If there’s an award for the coolest packaging for a concealer, I think Urban Decay can own it. With a distinct GOT feel, its silver packaging and abstract window give it a tough and masculine edge but the product itself is anything but. Creamy, highly pigmented with serious longevity it’s perfect for a night out thanks to its waterproof, full coverage formula. Too often I feel let down by concealer’s as their thicky consistency and chalky finish sink into the fine lines around my eyes making me look a decade older! But Urban Decay have it covered, literally. It’s thick and means business but relatively thin in comparison. Applying it is effortless and although my Beauty Blender was working overtime, it stays put all night long.
Since using Urban Decays foundation, I’m a little bit in love with the brand. Their base make-up is some of the best I’ve tried on the high street and each new beauty product release is better than the last. I can’t wait to see what comes next!
